It’s hard to believe that she only came in second place on TV’s Star Search show. After all, Beyoncé Giselle Knowles had won 35 talent contests in a row with her Girl’s Tyme troupe, renamed Destiny’s Child. At age 7 she had beaten kids twice her age.

Since then the precocious child from Houston, Texas has broken many records including #1 solo artist for four decades. At one time her “Lemonade” album had 12 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 list. There have been 88 Grammy nominations with 32 wins from albums like “Sasha Fierce” and “Renaissance” along the way. Don’t forget the Super Bowl halftime show in 2013. The word “bootylicious” is in the dictionary because of her. An exotic insect bears her name. Time out for marriage to Jay-Z in 2008 and 3 children. These days they share the wealth with oh so many social causes. All that practice as a kid in her French Creole mom’s hair salon has clearly paid off.
